Now that we’re officially into the first week of the Spring season, I’m already noticing new trends taking hold that signal a fresh and fun awakening in the design world! With so many of us having been locked away for the last year, this year Spring seems to be bringing out a bolder and more playful optimism, and designers are signaling brighter days ahead. We’re all ready to embrace a new and hopeful season, and these colorful changes will be sure to lift spirits as we move into longer, warmer days!
NEONS
Gone are the days of pastel pinks and baby blues for the Spring palette! This year, we’re seeing brighter and bolder colors take hold like never before. Designers and fashionphiles alike are looking to liven up their homes and wardrobes with expressive options in a rainbow of hues. We’re seeing this from high end designer collections to the trending content on IG that is attracting attention for design inspo and ideas! Whether it’s a brightly colored bag, a chromatic spectrum of shoes, or a bold painted finish for the home, now is the time to tap into your colorful side and run with it! FLORALS
Not all trends need to be groundbreaking, and florals will forever be a favorite for Spring! Mimicking the literal change of season and beautiful blooms taking place around us, this year, florals are also an exciting and welcome way to get back to basics and get connected to the world outside after the past year. We look to our favorite florals to brighten the most special of occasions — weddings, holidays, anniversaries, and the like. So why not take the same attitude toward your everyday looks and living spaces?! Incorporate a floral wall covering or rug like this one from The Rug Company for a fun yet timeless transition!
IRIDESCENTS
Maybe the most magical trend to make its way into the Spring category this year, iridescent accessories and furnishings are such a great way to bring a retro nod that feels fun and new! Iridescent pieces can be mesmerizing, and yet somehow subtle! You can treat them as a neutral in your home or ensemble, while incorporating all the colors of the rainbow. They’re sure to spur a childlike sense of wonder, and an iridescent table in your living room will definitely inspire conversation. If you aren’t quite ready to take the leap for iridescent furniture, consider smaller accessories like vanity trays, or a subtle bag chain to give your favorite flap bag new life for Spring!
