NEW FAVORITE THINGS FOR SPRING

With consecutive sunny days surpassing 80 degrees, I think it’s time to start getting my Spring wardrobe in order. The warm weather is ushering in a slew of new eclectic and exciting styles -- from retro tie-dye and nouveau neon to natural fibers and monochromatic neutrals. I’m looking forward to finding fresh ways to incorporate these into my rotation. Here are a few ideas about how I might integrate them, and others for work, play and travel.

Work

I love shorts and I love blazers, so, naturally, I’m thrilled that short suits are a spring trend. This look works well in a place like LA where I want to look polished for business meetings, but not overheat! I could see myself living in this playful-meets-professional Veronica Beard gingham blazer and shorts combo, paired with Gianvito Rossi neon strappy heels, Givenchy bucket bag and this season’s must-have hair accessory, a pearl clip.

Play

Neutrals are a constant in my closet, but I’m always up for a seasonal refresh, especially given skin tones are “in” this spring. While there are countless ways to update the wardrobe with nude, blush and cream hues, this feminine and slightly edgy Nanushka croc-effect midi dress could work wonderfully for weekend shopping or cocktails with friends. I’m imagining it dressed up with this chic embroidered Fendi shoulder bag, versatile Mansur Gavriel mules and feminine Jennifer Behr headband, and dressed down with this artful Rejina Pyo tote and comfy Chloe snakeskin sneakers.

Travel

Tie dye isn’t normally a go-to print for me, but the pervasive trend has me thinking of ways to incorporate it into my spring style. I can picture this resort-ready Rhode frock anywhere from the beaches of Honolulu to al fresco dining in Palm Springs. And what pairs more perfectly with a punchy print than natural fiber accessories like wicker bags, straw hats and raffia shoes? Other vacay-worthy wardrobe essentials include this pretty Marysia printed scalloped one-piece, these sleek Row leather sandals and these whimsical Cult Gia acrylic hoops.
