Mom’s Dream Closet

What Would Mom Want in Her Dream Closet?

This Mother’s Day, I’m reflecting on what it means to create a space just for her. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of designing closets for powerhouse women—mothers, entrepreneurs, tastemakers—each with their own version of what “luxury” means at home.

But the common thread? They all want a space that works beautifully and feels personal. So if we were to dream up the ultimate closet for the woman who’s always put everyone else first… here’s what I’d include:

A Vanity That Feels Like a Pause Button

We always say a vanity should feel like a daily ritual—not just a surface with a mirror. Soft lighting, dedicated space for beauty essentials, hidden electrical for styling tools, and drawers lined in velvet or suede. It’s about creating a moment of calm before the chaos—whether she’s headed to a boardroom or brunch.

A Shoe & Bag Wall That Tells Her Story

We design display walls not just for function, but to showcase a woman’s life and personal tastes—her travels, milestones, indulgences. The heels she wore to your graduation. The handbag she carried every day for a decade. Proper lighting, clear sightlines, and thoughtful storage elevate it from a closet to a curated collection.

A Space That Feels Like Hers

When designing for mothers, I often hear: “I just want a space that’s mine.” So we build in softness—textured materials, warm tones, plush seating. Sometimes it’s a small ottoman tucked in a corner. Sometimes it’s a full sitting room with a candle, a book, and five minutes of peace.

A Touch of Sentiment

The most beautiful closets we’ve designed always include personal touches: a framed photo tucked on a shelf, a drawer lined in a favorite fabric, a hidden collection of family heirlooms. These are the things that make the space feel intimate—not just well-designed.

Whether it’s a full renovation, a seasonal refresh, or a gift consultation, we love helping our clients carve out spaces that feel luxurious and deeply personal.

Because the best kind of Mother’s Day gift? One that gives her space to feel seen, centered, and celebrated.
