I recently contributed to this Architectural Digest article about what designers learned from their moms, and it got me thinking about some of my favorite stylish mom friends who are constantly inspiring me... How are they spending Mother’s Day? Where does Jennifer Meyer like to brunch and celebrate the occasion? What does Melissa Rivers love most about being a mom? And, what do they all have on their Mom's Day wish lists? I decided to collect a few of their ideal indulgences, and share my own thoughts as well!

What do you love most about being a mom?

Getting to see what an amazing young man my son is turning into. My proudest moment is when I see his character on display and I think to myself: 'How did he learn to be so nice?'

What's your ideal Mother's Day gift?

It’s been the same for many years: The day without any questions. And I mean NO questions. NO “what’s for dinner?” NO “where’s the remote?” NO “do I have to do my homework?” A day lesson of self sufficiency for ALL the men in my life.

Love brunch at the Four Seasons Biltmore...caviar for days, need I say more?

What do you love most about being a mom?

Too many things to mention... I love every bit of the job.

What's your ideal Mother's Day gift?

A drawing made by my girls is the best, but wouldn’t object to receiving any large orange Hermès gift wrapped boxes either.

Where's your favorite brunch spot for celebrating Mother's Day?

In Chicago, where I live, I love brunching on the patio at Eight Bar and Patio on the weekends. They can make a mean spicy margarita and paired with a dozen oysters and the prosciutto plate it's heaven! In Los Angeles, my favorite is Shutters on the Beach.

What do you love most about being a mom?

I think to be given something that is pure and the opportunity to raise a human being is such a gift. You plug away day after day and hope that you are "doing it right" when you have those moments that they show you that you really are kicking ass it's so rewarding, whether it be a "thank you" or they pick up after themselves. I also live for a good belly laugh!

What's your ideal Mother's Day gift?

Now that my daughter is old enough to make something I would just love something that she made especially for me! I could also use these Gucci sneakers from baby daddy! ;)
